           Hino is an overall considerate girl. She also has a strong sense of justice. This is shown when she defends Shoko Fuyuumi, a fellow music competitor, from three other girls who were abusing Shoko. The three girls were saying that Shouko didn't play well, but Hino stood up for her.

It also appears that Hino does not concern herself with romantic thoughts. There were a few incidences where her friends often asked her which of the boys participating in the contest did she like. Only at those times did she ever show any reaction. Because of this she is rather oblivious to the other boys' feelings.

The protagonist of the story, Misaki is the first female Student Council President at Seika High and known for her extremely demanding and aggressive attitude towards boys, relentlessly attempting to reform them to live up to what she considers are acceptable standards of behavior. Though many of the male students fear and even hate her, the ones who get to know her come to see that she's actually very fair and willing to help anyone who needs it. She eventually becomes widely respected for her exceptional academic ability, her great athletic skill, and her many accomplishments as President. Her negative attitude towards males is mostly attributed to her father amassing with a huge debt and then disappearing; Misaki became determined to make sure her spacey and helpless mother, Minako would not have to work so hard to support both Misaki and her younger sister, Suzuna . To this extent, she secretly and, at first reluctantly, works as a maid-waitress at Café Maid Latte. Misaki is always driven to do her best regardless of the endeavour, and has a strong sense of justice, though she also has a tendency to forget her own well being in the process of helping others. She gradually develops feelings for Usui Takumi, but refuses to acknowledge them until volume 7 of the manga, when she tells Usui how confused she is about her feelings when he is around her. After Misaki is re-elected as President, she finds Usui on school's roof, and he stands behind her with his arms around her waist; though he tells her she can run away if she dislikes it, she doesn't, saying "it's not like I hate this," to which Usui responds "I don't intend to let you run away, Ayuzawa."

Kazuki is an outgoing person and is extremely friendly to others. He has little sense of social boundary. During his time in middle school, he was in the track team but pulled out to play the trumpet in the school band.

He explained to Kahoko that one day he went to the rooftop to have lunch, however when he arrived, there was a female senior playing the trumpet. He was amazed at how she played. Soon after, she was there every time he went to the place to have his lunch. Later, she brought a trumpet she borrowed from the school’s music room. This finally allowed him to have a try on playing the trumpet. Nevertheless, at that time, he already joined the school’s track team and he was reluctant to leave and join the school band. However, in the end he had his friend’s support and quit the track team.

Kazuki has an enormous appetite, as he is constantly eating. He quickly befriends Kahoko. Because of him, Kahoko learned the true meaning of music, that it is enjoyed by everyone. After that Kahoko began to love and enjoy music better. In the middle of the series, he starts to call Kahoko "Kaho-chan", instead of the usual "Hino-chan", thus suggesting he has a rather obvious crush on her. He is the first one to realize he likes her, and becomes overly concious of her afterwards.

                 Hinamori Ami  is Amu's little sister who is innocent and pure-hearted, and because of that, Ami can see Guardian Characters despite the fact that she doesn't have one. Unlike Amu, Ami is dressed in "Sweet Lolita" clothing.

                                She is a large fan of Utau Hoshina, giving her a large part in making Utau good again. You usually see her posing for pictures for her dad to take of her singing, however she can also be seen begging Amu to either play with her or give her something. Ami always calls the Guardian Characters Shugoi Chara, meaning "Great Characters" Ami's name in japanese means "beautiful"
